Each year some of the industry’s most dominant show steer families seek out the progeny out of the 7/35 cow to feed. In the spring of 2023, we made the decision to leave NWO intact, rather than steering him.
ESS decided the industry needed a chance to breed to the best calf born in 2023. With the top steers retail price commanding $50,000-$150,000 it has been unheard of for a male of NWO’s quality to be left intact in recent years. In hopes of moving the show steer industry forward, NWO will give an opportunity at a more consistent state fair size group, and will surely feed predictably because he is backed by an incredible donor cow.
